TECHNIQUES Light & Sound CIC is a creative enterprise that seeks to promote excellence in the technical production of live shows and events thus improving the quality of life for the communities we work in.

By offering technical expertise, specialist training, practical support and inspiration to organisations, businesses, academic institutions and individuals we intend to raise production standards whenever we are involved on a project, taking the companies we work together with to a level where they can compete on a world-class stage.  In turn, by raising standards we hope  that our work will contribute to the cultural wellbeing of our audiences.

What is a CIC?

We want to be a socially responsible business and have set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC). 

CIC's are limited companies, with special additional features, created  for the use of people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit, and not purely for private advantage. This is achieved by a "community interest test" and "asset lock", which ensure that the CIC is established for community purposes and the assets and profits are dedicated to these purposes. Registration of a company as a CIC has to be approved by the Regulator who also has a continuing monitoring and enforcement role.
